What is the biblical take on charging interest (among other things!)?

Given today's financial credit crisis - consumer debt, banker debt, national debt, this is a very relevant matter. What is God saying through this credit crisis?

  • God damn it Jesus! You really fucked up this time!!! This is worse than that time you told Hitler to kill all those Jews...

  • @KB1869

not funny and not really even close to being true...

  • Its really disturbing to see how the pastor at the end relates economic crisis caused by the sub prime mortgage loans to Jesus. If we keep ignoring the actual issues and leave everything to Jesus, then i guess this country is going to be in bigger trouble than what we already have got ourselves into.

  • I don't think Jesus wants us to leave everything to him, he gave the brains to sort out this mess, I think the point was more that we have fallen away from what He taught in our grab to get richer at any cost.

  • Wow! God has an opinion? I'm very eager to hear it ;)

  • hmmm I thought we did lay it out in this video....

  • If you ever hear god saying anything, seek a mental health professional.

  • No, I don't believe God is saying anything. He's too busy playing pool with Zeus and Santa Clause.

  • Don't blame it to HIM.

  • @newhopecalgary i thought it was hillarious

  • dammit and here i was getting excited to see a cartoon..

  • @newhopecalgary well, you don't decide that, so, we'll go with the blame on jesus.

  • Has anyone ever heard of the ten comandments? Well included in them is THOU SHALT NOT STEAL and the last but not least is THOU SHALT NOT COVET meaning lust. What is going on now in the wolrd is the product of mankinds lust for things and stealing money (loans). And as for some one saying that this is not GODs doing, he is paritially right, because it is written "beware your sins will find you out!" meaining that God does not have to do anything overtly to you, he just lets you do your self in.

  • Yes he is right. no matter what you may thnink this is the truth. I read where some one made the comment that God does not have an oppinion. Did you read the bible? God has an opinion on EVERYTHING! I am not trying to bash anyone here. I am just letting you know that God meaning Jesus has written in his holy word how we are to conduct our lives.

  • It is always best to own a home than spending every month on rent. Get easy and flexible home mortgage from the fast and reliable services of Integrated financial Group.

  • In a society in which money has become the one and only measure of ALL things,

corruption will became the only lived religion!

  • Capitalism is an economic system in which prices are determined by unrestricted competition between privately owned businesses. What you have with the sub-prime mortgages are social planners who think that everyone should have a home. This is not greed from private industry, but moral hazard from Washington. Stop spinning it the wrong way. You have part of the story right, but the other part you are ignorant on. Again sub-prime mortgages are a socialist idea instituted from big government.
