At first when you read Tressas background you might think she would have had all the confidence in the world. But that couldnt have been further from the truth- instead she struggled with low self-esteem and always felt that she wasnt good enough.
She contributes those feelings to the fact that all her careers had something to do with the way she looked on the outside or how she performed.
Tressa quickly discovered that the world she worked in was one of relentless comparisons that were both unhealthy and overwhelming.
Finally, the lies that she believed for so many years were replaced with Gods truth once she accepted Jesus and began living for Him. She discovered that He was the only thing that could fill the emptiness inside and make her feel loved and secure just because she breathed.
Believing that Gods unconditional love was genuine was also the beginning of accepting herself just the way she wasthe true Tressathe no make-up Tressaflaws and all.
She no longer had to get her approval from the world, but instead from the One who created her, the One who loved her, and saw her perfect in His eyes. She began to see what real beauty was and that it could not be found in a shade of lipstick, a smaller dress size or being in front of a TV camera.
It was with that revelation that her focus changed and her ministry began. As a model and public figure, she now utilized her platform to get Gods message out - the message that true beauty comes from within and that knowing Jesus personally is where it is all begins.
Tressas heart now is that all women, especially young girls, will know this truth so that they too can be set free and avoid the enemys traps of lies.
She also speaks boldly against another lie of the enemy that is rampant in the world today - the message, that sexy is in and its o.k. to show a little skin now and then. She says its not just infiltrating our schools, but our work places and now even our churches—its everywhere
Tressas desire is to encourage women not to compromise godly standards in both the way they dress and conduct themselves. She gives tips on how to make good clothing choices and how to modify the fashions of today.
As well, Tressa reminds women of the importance of the inner garments they should try to wear daily, such as Compassion, Kindness, Humility, Gentleness, Patience, Tolerance, Forgiveness, Peace and Love.
One of her favourite quotes is that the Three Bs are for the bedroom or the bathroomthe Bust, the Belly and the Bottom!
Another quote from Tressa is that there are lots of women in the world but very few ladies. She hopes to change that and bring back elegance and manners to todays society-no matter the age.
