McCall (drums), Felton Pilate (trombone and lead vocals), and Danny Thomas (keyboards) who are from Vallejo, California. They got their start as a backup band for the group Soul Children, and were brought up under the guidance of the legendary Stax Records in the early 1970s.
Their string of hit singles include 'Ffun' and 'Shake And Dance With Me' in 1978, 'Chase Me' in 1979, 'Got to Be Enough' in 1980, 'Too Tight' in 1981, 'Baby I'm Hooked Right Into Your Love' in 1983, 'Electric Lady' in 1985, 'I'm Leaving Baby' in 1985, and 'She's A Star' in 1986. After numerous hits records and successful tours, the band disbanded after 1986. Lead singer Cooper left for a solo career, while Pilate went on to go into songwriting and producing. Con Funk Shun briefly reunited in the mid-1990s, and began performing around the world, and they also released a 'Best Of' compilation CD in 1996.
