A sentimental look back at the halcyon days of the Pittsburgh Pirates (1960's-1970's: 3 World Championships, many playoff wins/ appearances, HOFers Stargell, Clemente, Mazeroski, etc.)

  • Great video. I have a lot of those yearbooks/scorecards. Spent the years from '71-'79 in Moon Township - cheering on the Buccos!! Still upset over the firing of the greatest ever baseball broadcaster - "The Gunner" Bob Prince.

  • @mantle64 THANKS

  • Boy did that bring back memories! I lived outside Pittsburgh (Monroeville) from 1960-1965, and went to the old Forbes Field many times! I actually met Clemente, Sanguillen and Stargell at photograph signings--WHEN AUTOGRAPHS WERE FREE! (Wish I knew where they were now. The Clemente one's probably worth a fortune!) Thanks Vince! 5 star memories.

  • @17drums I'm glad you liekd it. thanks! You're lucky, too

  • Those were the years. Clemente, Stargell, Mazeroski, Steve Blass, Bob Veale, great team! 6 Division Championships & 2 World Series Wins in the Decade. That was when the game was great. 5 Stars. Jack.

  • so true. thanks :)

  • I had this book when i was a kid.

Bob Moose died on Route 7.

And he threw a no hitter against the Mets in 1969 in a doubleheader. They should of pitched him both ends that day.

  • I don't understand why since 1994 the pirates and phillies compete in 2 different divisions in the national league. the last time pittsburgh had a winning season was in 1992. 2010 the pirates will have a winning season. LET'S GO BUCS!

  • pretty cool about the Sam McDowell and Pete/ George Zuraw 'connection', huh?

  • thanks
