I wanted to say a few words about al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI). Bob Woodward claims in his new book "The War Within" that "groundbreaking" covert techniques, rather than the surge of conventional forces, have devastated AQI over the past year. This oversells the case, but there is no doubt that American special operations forces and intelligence agencies have become much more proficient at targeting AQI leadership and cadre.
When I was in Iraq last month, I had the chance to speak with numerous military and intelligence analysts. Although they are reluctant to say so in public, there was near unanimity in private that al-Qaeda in Iraq has been "strategically defeated." What does this mean? It means that AQI remains capable of assassination, intimidation, and the occasional spectacular bombing, but the organization no longer poses a threat to the viability of the Iraqi government. Saturday's story in the Post noted these sentiments as well: "While AQI remains capable of staging deadly suicide bombings, its leaders are becoming reviled throughout the country and are hard-pressed to find sanctuary anywhere in Iraq, according to U.S. defense and intelligence officials."
This is big news. The administration's claim that Iraq is the central front in the war on terrorism has always been dubious, but now it is simply unsustainable. Of course, this didn't stop President Bush from reiterating the claim during his speech today at National Defense University, where he reminded us, "Al Qaida leaders have repeatedly declared that Iraq is the central front of their war with America."
Yet, as Saturday's Post story notes:
"The shift also is tacitly acknowledged inside al-Qaeda's base on the Afghan-Pakistan border, as Osama bin Laden has begun retooling his propaganda campaign to emphasize the conflict in Afghanistan instead of the failing effort in Iraq, the officials said. While there is little evidence that al-Qaeda is attempting to move fighters and resources from Iraq to Afghanistan, the Iraq conflict is no longer driving recruitment and donations for al-Qaeda as it did as recently as nine months ago, they said.
Attacks inside Iraq by AQI, meanwhile, have dropped sharply, with 28 incidents and 125 civilian deaths reported in the first six months of this year, compared with 300 bombings and more than 1,500 deaths in 2007.
"Iraq will always be a target that resonates for al-Qaeda, but we believe it will never again be the central front," said a U.S. counterterrorism analyst who was not authorized to speak on the record. "Their ability to affect what is going on in Iraq has been greatly diminished.""
Iraq's Shia and Kurdish communities revile AQI, and the Sunni turn against AQI is unlikely to be reversed. "We don't see the Sunni community going back to al-Qaeda under any circumstances," a senior defense official told the Post. In this environment, the United States should be able to gather sufficient intelligence to effectively target AQI and prevent a safe haven from emerging in Iraq even as our troops draw down. We need to seize this opportunity to shift more resources to confront the challenge posed by Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Bush has announced the withdrawal of 8,000 U.S. forces (including one combat brigade) from Iraq by next March, and the deployment to Afghanistan of one additional Marine battalion in November and an Army brigade in January. Given the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, it is clear that more is needed. And the sooner the better.

@9revolta What will work, is influential ideology, innovative ways to enlighten others (the illuminati facts aren't enough), and realizing that sheep are sheep, and will always be followers of the tyranny of majority. You must look for those like you, and surround yourself in their 'wealth' of knowledge, and build each other to the strongest degree. When you are in the position of true influence, the sheep will come with no other intelligent choice to make but that, give me an email sometime.

Hey. Well I'm glad that there are people out there with substance, that understand these walking robots need help that extends way beyond there therapist and televisions. The burden of being the first few to know, is that the tyranny of majority labels you as wrong, or crazy. The advantage of being the first to know, is that you will become the leading majority in the confusion of the changes that we are bound to see. The hard times are coming my friend, but I don't have to tell you. Be safe.

@EAFWM2011
Well, I guess in that analogy I would be a combination of both Shepherd and Sheepdog. Shepherd in the sense of being a truther and trying to inform people with legitimate evidence of conspiracies, but also being a rebel, with harsh and revolutionary content to persuade people to wake up. That would be the Sheepdog of course, yelling at people " WAKE UP!!! WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU"
Peace...

Ha, yeah I awakened believe it or not when I was only 19 years old. I was walking home from work at night and I saw a booklet on the ground. It was titled "How The Sabbath Was Changed", and how satan infiltrated religion. I read that entire booklet and found out about the Illuminati then. Im almost 30 now, and I think my awakening completely changed my life. Because you have a greater understanding of life as a whole. Ive stayed silent about everything, lurking in the shadows.

More so than profit, the agenda is to control, more specifically mind control. People think that seems difficult to do, but actually its quite easy. Just look at everything on television, movies, music, education, all of this is tactics of mind control. The Illuminati know that the majority are so oblivious and consciously dead, they can put just about anything on tv and people will watch it. From my perspective, I feel sorry for society because they seem inhuman in that regard.

@EAFWM2011
Osama was apart of the CIA, and his real name is Timothy Osman or some shit. He visited the US back in the day, and toured the CIA and military bases to obtain information about weapons, etc. That alone can be linked to 9/11. The Illuminati is satan, but of course we have to expose physical creatures known as humans to overthrow it. Just mentioning the Illuminati will not suffice, you have to break the whole damn thing down. Thats what I do with my vids, unfortunately nobody cares.

@9revolta You seem to be on the right track, and a true Confederate. I don't mean the Southern Army in the civil war, look up the meaning, it is good. The world has sheep, sheepdogs, and shepherds', good shepherds are the key to change, but aren't as aggressive as sheepdogs, so change is rare. The balance of the world, has always shifted and changed, for the good or bad. So just wait, and like you do, keep spreading your influence and ideology, and don't break to what you consider wrong. See ya.

@9revolta Like the Western Society has made the name of Terrorist to scare anyone that survives or would like to survive off of the dependence of Western Society, those who choose not to, have come up with their own propaganda of labeling an Illuminati group as the ones trying to take their independence from them. I could be wrong, but I think Illuminati is just the idea of world banking, over taxation, and nullifying the freedoms and rights of humans, and eventually, One World Government.
