I am overjoyed to see that the Masquerade Group was a part of the celebrations. I applaud Guyana on accepting such a folk way into the mainstream. I'm happy that the Carifesta seemed to be a success by those persons I spoke to. It has been a long time since 1972 and I'm happy that the young guyanese were able to see Guyana on stage an on par with the other participants. Well done.
