An interesting mechanic, BUT (a big one too) we know how politics turns out to be...
People will abuse it, corrupt dudes running around giving votes for moneh, acolytes popularising one side and the people who will simply not care who's in charge as long as it is not bothering them too much. It's a game ofc and it is for fun and seems like a fun mechanic after all, however, this is all going to create shitstorms in the community.

Collecting votes as diplomacy or arena pvp as the path to this game's version of Archlord? Simplistic and dumbed down in the extreme. Cue random spam to 'join my guild and vote for me and I'll give you 1gp'.

@g0r3g4sm you don't know nothing, all MMORPGS base popularity in how many players you have killed , that's it, and many others have popular players from taking down epic bosses or having better gear o whatever. This is the same was lineage 2 in first chronicles, only it is improved in TERA. So , what theme park thing you see here if it is in all MMORPGs already :S
