Bauhaus was a band that was clearly capable of being *very* original. imo their music still holds up well today (for me, anyhow). So if they want to do a faithful cover of a classic Bowie song, that's okay by me. Anyhow I agree with the comment about going from glam rock to dark wave style on this song... the atmosphere must've been electric.

Oh how I miss Bauhaus.

I heard they did this song in response to being accused of being A band of Bowie wannabees.
If that was the case I can't help but think they made a good response.

wtf... whats so good about it... its almost the same as the original... thats what a good cover sounds like... A good cover is taking the basics of a song and adding your style to it... and even better wud be if u change the whole songs genre.

no they only gave the song a fatter/darker guitar sound. Good covers are like Jimi hendrix version of Bob Dylans All Along the Watchtower. Check out that and compare the diffrence between that original and the cover. This is a shit cover

you're right man, this is not among the better covers, especially if you put hendrix and dylan in the same sentence. bauhaus is great, but bowie shouldn't be touched in my stoner opinion

I lost my shoes so often at the front of the stage prancing around at Bauhaus gigs! It's one of the few things has me wishing to be 20 again!!!
