Why do you keep your humanure in separate buckets? You think you'd get better results if you consolidated all of it.
I highly recommend reading The Humanure Handbook if you haven't already.

@alex12ray I move each bucket out because it's what was sitting under the poop shoot. Never really thought about consolidating. humm . . .. I got the idea to do the individual pails from an Australian couple on YouTube. You got me thinking tho. :)

Incredible video Kasin!
You certainly know how to expand my horizons.
Have always been interested in composting toilets. Looked at the Sun Mar products but your system is so much more economical.
My waterless waste plan was to use a bucket and a kitchen trash bag but your method is so much nicer.
I've heard that cricket castings accelerate the composting process and are pretty cheap to buy and possible to make at home if you raise crickets to augment your chicken food.

@FriarTuck1961 Thanks. You cricket casting idea is a good one. What about the noise? hahaha. No, really. I'm serious. The chicken coop is just outside my window. I use worm in my compost.

Kasin, this is a great vid re: composting toilets. In case you haven't seen it, there is an excellent resource on the web in PDF format. Google "toilets that make compost". The PDF is the culmination of 20 yrs field research in Africa. They show 3-4 different ways to make composting toilets on the cheap. The best one is a urine separating toilet. Urine is sterile & can be used directly as fertilizer. The PDF covers this research (on corn) as well.
