The Swann SWDVK-825508C Surveillance System includes a state-of-the-art 8 Channel DVR8-2550 digital video recorder for simultaneous viewing and recording of 8 video streams locally, over the Internet or on your 3G Smartphone. The Swann SWDVK-825508C Surveillance System provides has H.264 video compression for fast, efficient recording and playback. You can also adjust the frame rate and image resolution with CIF real-time recording on all 8 channels (30 fps per channel, 120 fps total) and the ability to adjust the recording settings for each camera to the resolution you choose from 352 x 240 pixels (CIF) up to 704 x 480 pixels (D1).

BTW, I almost didn't buy it because of phyco126's remarks. The image quality is amazing. He must have been a competitor, because I can't see one thing wrong with it. I've even received my emails w/motion detected snap shots! I'm SO going to sleep well tonight!! Thanks tigerdirect and SWANNS!!

I just bought this system!! Besides the excellent footage, the best thing is the EXCELLENT customer service from SWANN!! I bought the 8 camera system and will install it myself. The techs helped me set up the streaming, as I am NOT a geek. They had me set up in no time!! The resolution is NOT terrible, and they didn't have the film over the glass either. I'm so impressed w/price/superfast shipping ($12) got it 2 days later. Tiger direct had the best prices. (I do my homework!!) LOVE IT!!thx

Resolution is terrible. I'd have to squint at that size! Wonder how the footage itself looks. Most cameras are so pathetic in quality all you would see is a blob moving around instead of actual details, like facial features, gender, etc.
Personally, I'd want an IMAX cameras set up for my security system. Too big to steal, high resolution, super details. Oh yeah.
