The Dave Thomas Comedy Show

The Dave Thomas Comedy Show was a sketch-based, five-week summer replacement series in 1990 starring Canadian Dave Thomas. Also featured were Anson Downes, Teresa Ganzel, Don Lake, Fran Ryan, Julie Fulton and David Wiley. The Show's writers were Dave Thomas, Mike Meyers, Mike Short, Michael Bayouth and Anson Downes. Dave had a lot of his friends and Second City pals on the show, with each show featuring a big name guest star. These were John Candy, Dan Ackroyd, Chevy Chase, Martin Short and Catherine O'Hara. Also included were Valerie Bromfield and Rick Overton. Bayouth conceived and story-boarded this opening-title-sequence with Dave and Anson and had a blast drawing everything from the sets to caricatures of the show's stars. (That's me as a Knight in the open saying "He's done it!")

It's on the SCTV box set. It's like those videos people do now (Bobby McFarin) or however you say that guys name, Immitating instrument sounds with his voice. I think this was years before "don't worry be happy". He starts out doing double bass only , then he comes in with the drums, then trumpet, and guitar. I'd post it, but I don't think I have the capability.

...I rember when this came out in the summer of'90,the life span was very disappointing which should have when into a second season!!!,John's Great,I can tell when he does Johnny LaRue.classic stuff

Dave Thomas a trained comedian, which is the analysis of what makes Canadians laugh. Just as an inquistioner knows the pain of innocent people can make normal people feel sorrow and remorse. I deal with how people are trained not to be normal and are paid to ignore pleas, as you would accept applause. They mock Dave Thomas's father, as they mock me and all ethically trained people. The analysis of comedy should never be used in the mockery of life's essence, but only in jest like a mirror.
