I would love to know some more history on this. It would seem this style was a bit dated by 1947 as far as 'pop' music. Was this perhaps a bow to older audiences of the time? My channel shows the overlap of pop styles over 120 years.
Averaging 2 hours each, my playlists for 300 artists & each of the past 120 years are meant to be your most accessable & intrnational music library ever !

Davenport, Iowa is significant, because it was Bix Beiderbecke's hometown. Wonderful! 5 stars

As I was saying....I'm Esten's daughter and have been searching high and low for the WOC acetate...I was at the recording session...there were some terrific pieces on the acetate.
Esten was a good friend of BIX...had a similar energy and style. Also, Donny O'Dette from Davenport, played a great cornet

If there were more recordings made at this session I wish they would show up. This Rose Room is the only one I know of and it was on a small label lp on the Wolverine label.
