Nigel Kennedy Plays Beethoven & Mozart Concertos with the Polish Chamber Orchestra

This album combines Nigel Kennedy's first-ever Mozart recording with a fresh perspective on the Beethoven violin concerto he first recorded in 1992. He collaborates again with the Polish Chamber Orchestra of which he has been Artistic Director since 2002. He directs the orchestra from the violin in both concertos to achieve a more direct communication of the orchestra members and the cadenzas are very much his own.

@sxmadrid Yes, it is N K 's special kadenza, you can hear it on the CD described here. I own the CD and it is my favorite recording of the Beethoven concerto !!

@camposi According to Wikipedia he was born in Brighton, East Sussex, England. Right or wrong? I don't know. Wikipedia says: "When not touring, Kennedy divides his time between residences in Malvern, Worcestershire (where his ex-partner and son Sark live); and London and Kraków where he lives with his Polish second wife, Agnieszka."

NIgel Kennedy is one great violinist of the 20th and the 21st centuries.  His rendition of the Meditation de Thais is for me immaculately perfect. Simply amazing.
