After the great surprise of SX Thinline (who is still one of my favourite guitar, and with stock pickups!) i've ordered a strat in ash. I've put an American Standard used set buy for a good price on ebay, and all instrument has a very affordable price for a tone i like a lot. Is brighter than the CS54, with a quite good output and a big definition and tons of high frequencies, very spanky (thanks also to ash used). I need to excange little part to rend the instrument better, with time i'll mount to have a quite perfect instrument.

  • does the bridge stays in tune?

  • @setapartkid like all cheap guitars, nut need to be replaced (i put a 7$ graph tech tusq nut on it). bridge and tuners are very cheap too (i changed both), anyway the bigger problem is nut, with a good slippery wood instead the awful plastic stock nut, tuning is decent. With a such nut is rather unpossible stay in tune, so you should consider this change as necessary

  • planning to do the same that you did here.... did you buy a loaded pickguard? or did you change electronics for your taste? thanks for answering....

  • @ivncdo0809 teh pickguard was the original one. i buy the pickup used on ebay for a very cheap price (now they're unused i changed that guitar in different ways), you can find easily because most of american standard users change their pickup for better ones. beware! the sx has not exactly identical measures and holes, so you can find some small difference and maybe pickup are just pushed to pickguard and to wood, and maybe magnet will be a bit unaligned. nothing important but consider it

  • Can U pass me this preset?! it's very good!!! :D

  • @francescoRELIVE thank you. if i remind well it's just the ac30 with default settings (maybe the master volume is to maximum, i "crank" even virtual amp as i dont like too clean tones) with a plate reverb. i usually never use compressor, stomps, eq and modulation on pod, i felt they loss tone and damage a lot complexity of waveform

  • ahhh the gentle sounds of a well trained Strat....very nice and goes to show that soul can show even with a 'cheap' instrument...(don't worrying about the suffering in Africa etc...)

  • i got a fenda stratocaster like that but it dosnt hav that sparkly stuf on it like that 1

  • sweet

  • @jgk381 it is just the reverb i use with headphones, as it is quite useful for headphone playing (dynamic and attack of a guitar is quite hard, so the stereo reverb soften the tone and made some spatial fullness on it). in real world there is the room acoustic to sharpen and fullen this, but especially clean tones on headphones can be really hard and unpleasant. i hoped it won't colourize the tone too much, but i'll consider some different setting for future so thank you for advice!
