He rolls when he rocks and he strolls when he walks... Our marshmallow, Markey. Maddie has cantered a few strides in the past but this is her first time cantering for a substantial duration. We used clicker training to teach Markey to canter this easily.

    She learned to canter bareback before learning in tack?

  • Yes. She has cantered a few strides in a saddle but we teach most things bareback before in a saddle because it ends up being safer. The pony takes more responsibility for the child and is better able to feel if she has her balance. Also, the child's body knows what to do more naturally without tack in the way.
