I got myself a Haken Continuum Fingerboard about a month ago, I am definitely still learning. I haven't seen many continuum videos on you tube so I decided to put up my own.
I am using the internal sounds, which are a nice addition if you want to just pack and go, otherwise you can connect it to the "world" through MIDI.
For those that don't know the Continuum is a neoprene surface were you slide and push in your fingers and sounds come out.

  • you should have used initial pitch rounding.

  • @mikecuzins I will next time, given the comments received so far. I must say that with round initial I would have never hit that third at the end.

Anyway the intent was to give an idea of the instrument some of the finger movements, and the basic sound, rather than my skills, next time I'll give it a better title. Peace.

  • @zinoff I would be VERY interested to know how much they cost and where to get one! It looks amazing, thanks :)

  • @tommie997 you can check on his (Lippold) webpage

    google: continuum current prices

  • Where's the good part?

  • none for the listener

  • That's a cool little machine...

  • @zinoff yeah true, but cant you use custom scales?

  • @mikecuzins Why? You can clearly hear that this is an Arabic atmospheric piece inspired by the quarter-tones of the Middle East. lol

  • its works like auto correction on a fretless instrument....you keep the expressevnes of natural pitch detuning or vibrato alive as long as its duration is within a time frame..if you play between notes, it will pick the closest semitone to adjust by sliding to, after the default time has been breached...called "rounding rate"...

  • I Like it ! really much !

  • ahah :D
