The rally song of the 1942-43 German anti-Nazi youth movement, the White Rose (die Weiße Rose). The White Rose consisted of five students — Sophie Magdalena Scholl, her brother Hans Scholl, Alex Schmorell, Willi Graf, and Christoph Probst, all in their early twenties — and a professor of philosophy, Kurt Huber. @Amiduffer The concept of this song more properly applies now to the situation in European nations, Australia, and Canada where they actually burn politically banned & anti-pc books, censor the internet, and throw people in jail for expressing the 'wrong' sort of thoughts regarding certain 'significant' subjects. Germany and Australia are far more draconian in this respect. It might not be easy to grasp, but that depends on your basic conception of 'freedom' and liberty.
