You never bring up any valid point to support your statement beside insisting player in the past has better skills(which I don't agree either) in a subjective manner. Power, speed and consistency are all part of the game too, like it or not.

The point of badminton is to get the shuttle on the floor of the other side of the court.
Smashing is one efficient way. I don't know why you wouldn't call smashing a skill.
