Cool, dark, 80's like. Why this type of sound and music went away? Why did it left us? Thanks for tuning me back to those times for a moment.

@900GTi While I'd love one it's not real practical for much beyond a history piece, heck I sold my EII+ years ago, and my EIII I don't turn as much as I once did, trying to keep it from wearing out or costing me big repair bills, LOL.

@wet501 What about a Emulator I?

Madonna... Incredible...

@wet501 I wrote that before I got my own EII and Emax- what I meant by the post was, was the sound originally taken from a preset, or layered preset, not a preset 'out of the box'- I know this wasn't DM's method, should have clarified. 'Liquid Stacks' is a very similar sound though, once it's been tweaked enough (thanks to JMP!)

Depeche Mode has never used factory samples, nor have they sold any samples to a library company. Alan Wilder covered this in several interviews, it's part of how they sound so unique, make your own samples!!!
I do myself, it's not hard on E-MU gear, I have 2 Emaxes E64, E6400, ESI4000T, EIII, EIIIxp and EII plus a Drumulator! Love EMU samplers.

@JMPSynth but you can't beat that classic emu-groove, can't you? :)
Wow, where did you get the DM samples ?!

Sampled them ! In WAV format first then sampled into the EII.

Can you help me? Is it only sampler or have factory samples?

Not sure what you're asking... the EII has no sounds in the machine, all are sample soundbanks loaded via floppy or Mac. This track uses EII library sounds and some of my own sample soundbanks.

did you use EII own sequencer?

Nah, far too difficult that way and the EII can't hold that many sounds at once in it's limited memory. Used multiple tracks in Cubase.
