@mysankchuary get off your temperance soap box and do the research yourself. moderate drinkers have a lower mortality rate than abstainers. moderate alcohol use doesn't cause damage to any organs. name one study that shows any negative effects of moderate drinking. what nonsense.
MrWinegeek They r nor scientists? so?? your point being? The Mediterranian diet being healthier as rich in olive oil and fruits and veggies is a myth!! All the best
@mysankchuary: If you have a problem with alcohol, like many do in the U.S., then don't drink. But please do not misinform people but irresponsibly stating that a small amount of wine will damage the brain and other organs. People are too smart for that silliness. Or at least if you do, cite some real research to back that up as all the other research on wine shows health benefits when it is drunk in moderation. Shame on you.
@mokugin81: You have missed the point. You are arguing what people normally eat in these countries. That is not what he is saying. He is talking about a specific style of eating called the Mediterranean Diet. If you really know Greece then you know there is a big difference between the Greek diet and the Mediterranean Diet. And if you know Italy you know that the Mediterranean Diet started inthe South, where meats are not often eaten. None of the authors you cite are scientists.
Wine is not healthy that's a complete myth. If you want the benefits without the damage just drink grape juice. The fact is that wine has some benefit but the damage is does to all your organs, including your brain, far outweighs any benefit. I'm tired of people BSing about wine. Forget 1 drink a day even a drink a week is bad for you do your research.
