They are right. Very informative information but these aren't technically Spanish dances as they do not come from Spain. I understand that there is a common misunderstand though, so don't feel bad. You are not the only one. Just remember

I dont want to be rude in any manner but merengue and salsa and such aint spanish dances, if someone teached you that he/she is wrong, those are sudamerican dances and have nothing to do with spain despite that spanish and sudamerican languages match somewhat... nice videos and explanations anyway.
