U are also underestimating the ability of people to research on the net, come up with ideas, try them out, and learn- every DISCOVERY was a discovery (was it not?). How many new inventions were stumbled upon? 6 billion people, many billion of them on the net, & you are saying amatures can't use the net to learn & build a better parabilic mirror collector in their back yard? Unless you can provide evidence to the contrary, there are no solar voltaic cells capable of 75% efficiency. Solar collectors are not the same as solar panels. You need lots of additional systems to convert heat to electricity. I doubt amateur builders could construct a 75% efficient heat-engine in their garage.

I majored in energy engineering in college. My team built solar water heaters with photovoltaic driven electric motors. Your claims are outlandish. Maybe you should study.

YES- YOU CAN BUILD SOLAR PANELS IN YOUR GARAGE! Google or YouTube "parabolic mirrors". %75 is entirely possible. Why would you want to buy 4 more solar panels at 4 times the cost? This is the time for "The People" to realize that YOU CAN BUILD SOLAR CAPTURE DEVICES IN YOUR GARAGE- The 'Established' companies don't want you to REALize this. We NEED to get to our garages if we really want to make this happen. Just keep a fire extinghisher around :) STUDY STH, STUDY!

That makes no sense. First off, we can never get 100% efficiency on ANY type power generation. Second, to get 5X (!) of energy, just install 4 more 20%-efficient panels.

75%-efficient solar panel is still a wet-dream. As far as I know the best panels hover around 40% right now. For residential households You need an initial investment of $15,000 to $20,000 to get a starter system which has a RoR of 10 years. You can't build panels in your garage!

Solar panels today can capture 20% of the suns energy. That means we could potentially get 5X (!) the amount of energy if we focus on how to do it. 20% efficiency isn't great, but it can easily power a home & electric car. At 75% efficiency, it BLOWS AWAY the cost of oil, coal, and (so called) "natural" gas. If we reach 75% efficiency, it's over for fossil fuels. This is one of the best areas to focus on - Let's get to 75%!!! Build things in your garage, experiment, study, invest, encourage!
