if you watch the entire move very carefully from the time he picks up the coin to the time where he makes it vanish, you'll notice that after he places the coin in his left hand, he moves his right hand towards himself at 4:48. This is because he didn't really put the coin in his left hand, it is still in his right hand. He then let the coin drop into his lap when he moves his hand towards his end of the table. A very smooth move.
