"This is a very special gun to me... This .38 was my first hand gun and was given to me several years ago by brother, Lt. Robert J. Cooney, who passed away in 2008 at the age of 43. This was his original secondary weapon after he graduated from the police academy over 19 years ago. He gave it to me after I talked to him about my concerns with home protection and before I owned any firearms. The iron sights on this weapon are extremely accurate. This is definitely a go to gun for ease of use, accuracy and concealment."

UPDATE: I was originally told by an "expert" that this was a .38 Chiefs Special. I recently did some research and learned this is actually a rare Smith & Wesson Model 10 .38 manufactured exclusively for the prestigious Policia de Investigaciones del Peru, the Peruvian equivalent to the FBI. The frame is marked with the Peruvian seal on the right side plate. I was surprised to learn that revolver is a collectors item and is worth somewhere around $1200.00.

  • By the way... for all you idiots complaining about the distance. It was at 7 yards, which is required when you shoot for the first time or bring a guest who has not shot at this range. Once the Rangemaster is comfortable with your shooting, the target can be pushed back. In these videos we had just started and my guest was a first timer at this range.

  • Pretty good shooting with a short lil barrel, but it is all single-action. In combat you will most likely fire DA. How's it in DA??

  • Actually, double action is very accurate as well...

  • I'd have to disagree with the accuracy thing. My father has owned his .38 snub for 15 years, and says "If your aiming at anything more than 5 feet away, your gonna miss."

  • That's me shooting at 2:23 from 7 yards (21') with no trouble. The problem could be your father's gun.
