  • For more than 50 years, this has been one of my favorite recordings of the Concerto. I ran out and bought the LP right after hearing him play this at his Carnegie Hall debut, ca.1960.It was magnificent.

    Several weeks earlier, I attended his Town Hall (NYC) debut. I can't remember most of the program, but he did play Petrouchka. Fabulous!!
