i resolved this problem on mine. you need to remove softtouch button cover, put some aluminium sticking tape under line with soft buttons treble to wireless. cover it with paper painting sticking tape and mount again. my problem solved since i did this.

this exact same problem is happening on my HP HDX 18 right now as i type this .
i wonder if its something to do with a free upgrade Hp offered when i bought the systerm with vista 64bit , Hp sent me a free Window 7 64bit upgrade disc. Its so annoying when using the Second Life online chat world.

This happens to me all the time (like now). I really need to bring this stupid laptop in. At least I know its not isolated.

I just recieved a notice today of a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against NVIDIA chips that were installed in HP laptops, Dell, AND apple. (Doesn't have to do with this issue, but i thought i'd ad the info for others). My HDX 16 is not on the list, but a FEW HUNDRED others are. GO HERE to find out if yours is on the list...

your problem STARTS ALL OVER AGAIN.
It's particularlly ANNOYING when someone else does it. I know not to touch them, but I must inform all others NOT to TOUCH them.
This is the PROBLEM with so many manufacturers, not only HP. They sell people things that THEY KNOW DAMN WELL HAVE ISSUES, and this issue IS NOT PERMANANTLY resolvable. What if I bought the product specifically for the "Quick Launch?"
What if it were a prescription drug that was meant to save my life?

TWO, by uninstalling all drivers for "quick launch," RE-installing the base drivers for QuickLaunch (the ones that came with the computer), and then updating the drivers from HP.
ALTHOUGH this and the previous fix somewhat resolves the issues (so that the volume / base / treble it isn't taking control and/or wireless going on and off) it does NOT fix it to where you can use it. One brush of your finger, or SOMEONE ELSE TRYING TO TURN THE VOLUME DOWN through the "QuickLaunch," and
We did everything to get this resolved. I had to send laptop back to HP, as they could not get the problem to stop. This would happen at start-up, with no other programs running.
