  • This is a wonderful comic performance. I would have laughed, too. This is the second YouTube video I've seen of this countertenor, and I'm already a fan.

  • great countertenor! would really like to hear it auf deutsch though..

  • Dont like his voice...

  • does anyone have the english lyrics to this song?

  • Mr. Pagenkopf! You are awesome.

    -A fan from Houston

  • Mr. Pagenkopf may be betraying his Wisconson roots with that (ah, the old days) Green Bay Packers' Brett Farve "double pat" of the football before he lets it fly! Very funny - excellent acting and fabulous vocal range. Great costumes. Looks like so much fun for the audience.

  • Not to worry, Mr. Salieri, my friend! (Leave off all those sugary treats. Makes for jittery hands.) This vid is such a tease - would love to see the whole opera. No disparagement to mezzos and contraltos intended, but it's encouraging to see a countertenor reclaim and restake roles such as these. Countertenors are no longer, as James Bowman said of eras gone by "not in common currency" and should be utilized to the fullest. Go forth, young man!

  • SORRY Cntr10r - hit the wrong finger by accident! I completely agree with you. Perhaps I can undo the "damage" by suggesting that the NEGATIVE about Mr.Pagenkopf is that he is not better known!

  • Fantastic! Very spirited, funny, and inspired singing which speaks not just to the music, but to the character as well. Reminds me of Michael Chance in Purcell's "Fairy Queen" where he and Jonathan Best stole the show. Best wishes in your future endevours, Mr. Pagenkopf.

  • Love this, very insiring!!

  • hey im in this video!!!!! :)
