It looks unnecessary

It looks very ugly and lonely. Aren't there any more tall buildings there? And why did they build it upside down?
-
I really hate this building! I hope soon there will be a new, better looking tower to dominate Manchester's skyline and take attention away from that horrible design.
-
Superb building, I love how you've got shots of the tower among the od brick buildings and railway lines, great fusion of old and new.

@interfaceboyz Quantity over quality prevails in Dubai, stay here and watch the awesome towers being built in London.
-
I'm not sure about this building - it looks top heavy - as if it could topple over any minute!
-
bland looking biulding,,, no effort in design here,,, views of manchester are probably best feature... think i will go to dubai....

holy shit that music freaks me out!!!!!!

I don't need to know anything about architecture to make an opinion, so back off
-
It shows what you know about architecture! the "blade" is there to mast the contrast between the sky and the building, who ever had the idea to put it on is amazing! because imagine it without! so don't go there.
I love architecture - and the quirky stuff is great - but personally I think this building is just plain ugly, from every angle. There's no beauty to it. It's like an abstract art interpretation of some dark, futuristic industrial vision... just disturbing.

Although many people love the architecture of the Beetham Tower, its not everyones cup of tea! "Futuristic industrial vision", lol!

It howls during windy weather and is hardly the prettiest building in town. There are far better buildings to see in Manchester.... I promise you!

What's your favorite building in Manchester then BlackJack!?

Well, I'm a big fan of all the old mills surrounding the city. The railway arches are a technical wonder of their age. Manchester Art Gallery is beautiful, as is the town hall. John Rylands Library has to be the winner though. Can't beat a bit of Gothic!

Yes, I really like the John Rylands Library too. Isn't it great how diverse the architecture is in Manchester city centre!
