Actually, Al White and Norm Gibbs created the character based on what the Zucker brothers were trying to achieve but couldn't really. White and Gibbs made the back and forth dialogue of what they perceived as "jive talk as a language" and absolutely made those characters. Take a step back and witness the patronizing racism in your description. PC as a pretense is far more dangerous than an honest and humorous look at the differences in race.

@zoator You're right...White and Gibbs did do the legwork on creating those characters. My bad. You're also right about PC being dangerous. I have to admit, I think I veered a little into that nebulous PC zone as I was writing the description...chalk it up to a guy going overboard in trying to show a little sensitivity. Point taken. But patronizing racism...naw, I won't accept that charge. Still, you made me think twice, so thanks.
