Dear Dhruv, while visiting the Art Museum at the Cornell Univeristy, I was imagining you holding my hand and asking me questions about Bhagwan Buddh. I took some pictures there which you are seeing in this video. Enjoy!
This is the fourth poem in the series of learn Hindi through simple poems.
This poem is a story of Bhagwan Buddh ( well not Buddha! And not Buda! either) . In the backdrop his son Rahul is requesting mother (Bhagwan Buddh's wife :Yashodhara) to tell a story. And the mother is narrating the story of Bhagwan Buddh's childhood.
Once he was sauntering in a garden and a bird fell at his feet . The bird was hurt by an arrow. He with all his compassion started nursing the bird. His cousin Devdatt arrived at the scene shortly and demanded the bird as he is the one who shot the bird down with arrow. Bhagwan Buddh denied and the dispute was presented in the royal court.
The court decided that the one who is savior is the owner and not the one who tried to kill.
In this poem the mother asks Rahul what should be the decision? And Rahul's answer was same as the decision of the royal court.
The poem is written by great Hindi Vidwan Maithilisharan Gupt.
i was touched by "tum ise buda nahin kehna na hi bhuddha" Really it is very important to preserve the purity of our mother toungue. May
