Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in men and women. In this "8 Way to Prevent Cancer" segment, Washington University psychiatrist and researcher Laura Bierut, MD, discusses the benefits of smoking prevention and cessation. She says there is a much smaller likelihood that individuals will become smokers if they haven't begun smoking before age 18.
