Bohdan X on the dance floor and Shirley Strahan in the audience.

It might not be as polished as the later recordings from The Sports, but it is still great !!!
It's good to appreciate it for what it is as part of the early days and roots of what develop into one of Australia's great bands.
It's got energy and fun and captures the spirit of a young band starting out. Great stuff !!!!

to tell you the truth...im actually amazed that after this tryout...steve and the SPORTS became legends thankgod!!..THE BEST ROCK BAND IN AUST..and one of the best in the world..this single is a shocker...

OMG Steve is virtually unrecognizable now:looks VERY old and weather-beaten!
I think I'll just remember how he looked when this was shot:a real cutie.

Hi Ryan, Part1. Yes the other video was called Hot Throat and was about Angel,an 'easy going woman' who worked in a Melbourne massage parlour. Tough life then with a heroin habit. Sign of the times with the 'relief' fee of $20!
A car salesman fell in love with her but she was only interested in the money. Part 2. The vocalist was Avril Bell, guitars Pierre Jaquinot/Chris Warrel, Bass Paul Gadsby, Piano Jim Niven. I arranged, wrote the song, played drums and produced the video. An actress played the female part.

Cool... I'll add all that info in, but I'm thinking of adding it to an NZOZ appendix account. The film clip looks very dated in a charming way. I really like it a lot. Stephen describes you as a 'vague' friend....

Part 2 from Lee Cass. Backup vocals were by Paul, Lee, Steph and Red Symonds. This was released for the Fred Cassette Co in 1977 as the B side to the record "Missing in the Eighties..." by Fred Cass and His Fabulous Cassettes, which was a sizable hit on then ABC radio station 2JJ in Sydney. The video was submitted to MTV but not broadcast. How did you get the video?

Hi Lee,
I got it from a guy called Brett who lives out in Melbourne. He got it from Chris Lofven. Would you like me to put the song about The Prostitute on as well?
