An now for something completly different.

In 1993, Amiga games were at their peak of evolution. This game, 'Burning Rubber', a racing game much like 'Lotus' and 'Jaguar' came in fours 3½-inch microfloppy diskettes, and the first one solely contained the game credits (wich I left out, sorry) and this amazing intro featuring music by none other then the legendary Utah Saints.

The clips uses the same technique used in 'Another World' and shows off a few motion capture animations turned into... well, turned into what you see on this video.

Sorry for the abrupt ending, the music just loops every 2:21 seconds anyway. :)

Tim Haywood writes:

"The story behind this sequence for Burning Rubber, was that I and a few mates from work went to see Utah Saints in Newcastle at what would be considered a bit of a small gig, I managed to grab their manager and get his number, rang them up asking if they wanted their music in a video game, they said yes, and the game publisher - Ocean software sorted out the rest. I created this Amiga mix, and my mates Nathan Whitaker, and Alan Redpath pretty much did the rest."

  • Thanks for the info. Things may never be like they were in the VG industry, but as long as we still remember how they began, we can still tell the younger ones that yes, there was life before their playstations. v ^_^

  • how long i played this game...back in the days... :-)

  • seriously coolest game intro ever

  • @ShadowDreadblade Don't forget the premptive multitasking, which didn't hit windows to NT / win 2000. Apple were even slower, a full 16 years late to that party.

  • This intro was utterly awesome.

ANd the game was pretty cool too, very underrated game.

  • Looks like the State of the art demo.
