  • nice showing off your ip address lol

  • @JimBaww Who uses static IP Addresses? WTF?!

  • All laptops get really hot and if a you want to define overheating at "90 degrees" or even "100 degrees" then mine is dying because my 5 year old macbook is at 150°F just watching this video at 360p. Unless you are talking about degrees celsius, i think i will disregard the "overheating" problem.

  • @TheSorrow3 Of course it's Celsius the video shows Celsius. The max temp a Core i7 can handle before it throttles down is 100c. 150F is 65c which is very normal for any computer.

  • I want to correct a bit about the ventilation that u say "the only vent is located at the back and it`s slim".. as far as I know the keyboard on the macbook pro is acting as a vent as well (I mean the gap between the keyboard which also used for sound output from the speakers)... and the ventilation at the back is not that slim. The actual vent is behind that black display hinge ( u can see when u open up the display ) I`m sorry if I`m wrong, Peace ^_^

  • @JesusM29: it will only fail if temps are maintained for an absurd amount of time. I have ran desktop Core "i" Series CPU's at near 100 celcius for for nearly 36 hrs without a single issue. Be smart and fit the specs to what you want.

  • Remember this is a dual core i7 vs. the quad core so more threads being ran on two cores. It also has Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics (with dedicated graphics the CPU will run considerably cooler) and it's also an aluminum unibody case and anyone who understands metal properties knows that aluminum dissipates heat. Hey man, if you wanted a speed demon that had cooler load core temps. you should have gotten the 15" with dedicated graphics.

  • dude thats normal all laptops run hot I've seen much worse pcs i have hit over 100 degrees celcius on another computer before and the processor was fine

  • @jacksite2007 its called i stat pro u can also use smc fan control

  • Sorry if this is noobish, but how you get that dashboard widget on lion?

I'm also running i7 and this is a big problem for me..

  • mine gets extremely hot, and the fan is always running when im on online =/ Where did u get this CPU app from??

  • My 4 years old laptop, core 2 duo T8100, in "open case" (remove it for better cooling) with a bigger fan have reached 92º C in 4 seconds while watching this video. Also it has a dedicated gpu.

The air 13,3´´ doesnt have a dedicated gpu, so cpu and gpu is under the same chip, so 70 or 80 its not overheating for that small form factor machine, its very good. Even an alienware m11x or m14x which has a cooling much better than macbooks pro or air reach 80/85 under load (not while watching videos).

  • This is ridiculous, I'm very disappointed in apple: IN response to ankitpasi1, of course it is NOT obvious that overheating is normal. If a crash on a laptop is normal, which is what that overheating will eventually lead to, then spending all that money is not worth it.

Now my fan is spinning at 6200rpm. What can I do? is there another solution other then purchasing the external fan?

  • Im pretty sure Apple has hired world class Industry Design people ie. Jonathon Ive. They know what they're doing.I have a 15 inch with quad core i7 which runs at the same temperatures in mac os x as yours. So maybe its just normal.
