THE COOLEST THING YOU'VE SEEN ALL DAY: Pistachio the Squirrel's Day Six Feeding!

On Tuesday, August 16th, 2011, we had a house guest "drop in" -and by "drop in", I mean about 40ft down from a nest in a tree in our front yard!

Her eyes are still closed, but I think she's probably getting close to being five weeks old -which means her eyes will open at any time.

At 12 weeks, Pistachio will be strong and healthy enough to be released back outside, so stay tuned!

Just want to stess, though, that apparently the absolute greatest danger to these squirrels is accidental asphyxiation from feeding -meaning: humans push too much fluid out of the syringe and it goes into the lungs- so do it slow!
