he made it because he was black not because of his baseball skill there were better players in that time period that were black but he was chosen and that was a great move if you can play color shouldn,t make a difference he took a lot of bull from his teammates and opposing players but he stuck it out,i tip my hat to him.

This is the one day where someone who knows nothing about baseball can go to the park to see a game and scream out "You suck number 42!" and have the crap beaten out of them in honor of a baseball legend.
