Lance's Floating Egg Experiment :)

A fun and simple experiment for your kids..Lance enjoyed this experiment very much. Try it with your kids too and see their reactions ^_^

Why do you think the egg did float in the water after Lance added salt into the water? :)

WHAT HAPPENS? If there is enough salt in the water, the egg will float.
WHY? The egg floats in salt water because of density (weight divided by the amount of space it occupies).The egg has greater density than fresh water , so it sinks.

The salt changes the viscosity of the water making it more dense than normal, and less dense than the egg, if I'm not mistaken. I remember doing experiments like this with my father when I was younger (:
