Lenovo probably wants to test this on the consumer market which can handle the volatility if it happens not to be a big hitter. The Thinkpad line has a very different kind of user and will likely suffer worse if this tech weren't absolutely phenomenal. As well, the Thinkpad users are often also going to be higher-end more "control-freak" type users who will want to self-manage their files. This tech does exactly the opposite of GIVING control. It REMOVES control to ADD convenience
Is rapiddrive configurable so that the SSD/HDD volumes are separate though...? I don't want to squash them together like Seagate's Momentus XT drive, I want to be able to individually control what I keep on my SSD...
@yeeaahBUDDY Both machines are executing the exact same stuff. It's a common SSD test, write a single batch file. On the left one, windows cover the proccess, that's all.
I don't get it. It looks like the one on the right as some other stuff going on...is it booting in a virtual machine? If some of the resources are being used, then how is that a fair comparison?
For the record, I just bought a Y570, can't wait to see how it pans out!

Also check out the comparison from Samsung, which does a lot more tests like vibration resistance, etc
