It's undeniable that he only made them laugh. But if he hadn't of made that gun joke then he could have started talking to them and THEN pick them up. YES it's cheesy. YES they might make fun of you for being so confident. But that line WORKED! A little smooth talking and some more cocky jokes and he could have taken them out easy
