@paraglidermx Thank you my friend. Kind of managed to learn it on my own a year or two ago but doing it to perfection has been another story lol :)

@frenzitti Its easier to learn how to move up the neck with two strings than all six,,so if you learn these just like hes showing you and practice it,,you will eventually see how the modes connect all the way up,,then learn the different sounds of each separate mode and you have it.But learning how to rip these shapes up and down is key!!

@Jackson4308 Nice little run in G there at the end,,,yeah its also nice to know the chords that go along with each different sound,,it may take years to master all the modes, chords, and how to connect them,,but after you do,the possibilities are endless.

@SpeedDemon604 The harmonic slide is easy,,just trill hammer pull off 5-3- open on the G and while you do that lightly touch and slide the palm of your picking hand across the strings,,you couls do this on any string but I found the g works the best.
Hope that helps!

All of that equipment behind you, and you can't find a noise gate? really?

How does he do that crazy little pull off harmonic thing at 0:31? I've been trying it for a while, but I just can't get that sound... Help?

Sure it does , thanks , but i'd only wish to see that explained , cause visually its much easier to memorize it .
In this case you mention , i used to only use the pentatonic , but lately im using the F# harmonic minor as well , and A Major , but still im having a bit of a hard time on how to conect one to another .
Do you understand my prob ?
Cheers and thanks for the response

Well A power chord I can play G major starting on the A note,or i can play A major ,or i can play A# major,or i can play A harmonic minor ,or i can play F# harmonic minor ,or i can i can play C major starting with an A note.Does that help?

You have to first understand what he is playing in this vid is not really modal playing. What I mean is yes they are all modes in the key of g major but because each position starts on a different note other than g they still are the same 7 notes in the key of g major. The same notes in 1st position are the same 7 motes in seventh position just played in a different order.True modal playing like howe ,moore is different.Lets say i play an A power chord? What scales can I play off this?continued

I wish the same , i just want to know when and why i should use each mode in order to know what i do with my solo and when .
Is that simple !!!!
i wish someone demonstrates writing with modes with a solo in mind what modes they choose over certain chords and why! so you can see the key changes and modes with the scales.other wise i dont care where you start a solo and call that note you stillneed to know the key!!! you dont start on a g in gmajor and end the 31 minute solo on a g and dont play any other notes????????cofusing mombo jombol for most guitarist>Did halen use modes?technically yes but he knew what and where to play off 1 key

I have learned all the modes but how do I know which one to play for which key I am in?
Are they always the same depending where I am on the fret board? Or, can I play all the modes for the same note such as the Low E 5th fret A. will all the modes work if i start on this note?
