The pullover is an exercise you seldom see done in the gym anymore. Yet back in the Pumping Iron days of bodybuilding it was a staple in almost everyone's routine. In fact way back in the old days before the invention of bench presses with upright racks for holding the bar, guys would do a barbell pullover, lifting the bar from the floor to their chest, and then do their bench presses. But gradually over the years this exercise got pushed to the wayside and is hardly ever done by the average gym goer.

  • would this help with Pectus Excavatum? i have this and i want to know some good pec work outs

  • @MrJrMcLovin

I really don't know. I've never had to deal with Pectus Excavatum myself and I don't know anyone personally who has had it. But if you certainly give it a try and see how it feels for you. As long as you can lift weights comfortably I don't see any problem with adding in this move to your workout.

  • i have a problem , my chest needs to be lifted ALOT, could you please tell me good exercises to solve this problem? thanks alot in advance

  • @0to62

Just go to my main channel page and check out my Playlists. I've got all my chest workout videos listed there.

  • Is it good to expand the chest with this exercise? Is it suitable for teens?

  • @SoulOne94

Yes, this is a good move for teens to help stretch and expand the rib cage and build the chest and lats.

  • you cant expand your rib cage LOL

  • @215Dave215

It's usually only hard on the shoulders if excessive weight is used. When done with lighter weights and used as stretching move it's actually a very safe exercise.

  • @MrJrMcLovin yes this will definitely help out pectus excavatum i have it and have read several articles saying this will help expand the sternum i think ill do the dumbbell pulllover because it just seems easier yet itll get the job done. I reccommend going to the doctor first to see if you have a mild, moderate, or severe case, if you have a severe case or a highly moderate one you'll need surgery but if not then do some exercises like this and it'll look better but keep at it

  • for some reason i don't think this is a chest exercise. i dont feel anything in my chest. i feel its a way more back/lat exercise, as i pull it up. anyone agree or have some thought on this?

  • Dude
