Every stick Gaypalani makes conjures up a sense of uncontainable excitement and heightened sensory perception, a little like being with a new lover for the very first time. For a moment, nothing else matters. Time stands still. Every sound and movement is extraordinarily pleasurable. I'm talking about this yirdaki here.

A heavier instrument with a matching heavy syrupy voice, thick, chocolatey, oozing with fullness, this is a turbo-charged instrument with the performance and purr of a Lamborghini Murciélago V12 engine.

It has scorching power and responsiveness, almost too loud for its own good... you can hear the distortions in this video whenever Laga does his tongued accents.

This is the sort of instrument that will make a generation of yirdaki players become yirdaki lovers. Full stop.

  • Haha! I love your describ of the yidaki! Made my day! Oh Adam Yo Manymak!!!

  • Decadent?! :D A sticky stick? I think comparing it to the purr of a large cat (whether feline or vehicular) works well enough.
