In this video I'm attempting to explain the term Watts in a simple language anyone can understand. I also show how understanding this is useful in doing solar energy and battery sizing if your setting up an off grid power system.

    THUMBS UP*

  • @high1voltage1rules Thanks for the thumbs up.

  • It would really help if you would define the terms from the start

  • @dialectical44 Thanks for the suggestion. I added an additional annotation to the video.

  • now i understand...

but I still have question on how long could the 12v 8.5Amps battery using 100w light bulbs?

  • @Xbasic3000 I think what you meant to ask is how long will a 100w light last on a 12 volt 8.5 amp hour battery.

Excluding the heat losses and other inefficiencies I would say 1 hour, but realistically probably more like 45 to 50 minutes.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • I have had such a tough time trying to understand the relationship of power, voltage and ampres. I want you to know, this video allowed me to understand. THANK YOU!

I am trying to put together a solar powered setup to run a few things (when) power is lost.

  • Very useful!!
