@techboy710 Having the ipod plugged in or a phone off the hook will give a busy signal, but if the phone were to ring, it will damage the ipod.
Also, if your parents needed to make an emergency call, they would have music playing, and not able to call.

Dont mater if u dont have a phone plugged in... the way a phone call works is they send an alternating amount of voltage thru the lines and that what makes ur phone ring.. so even if the phone aint hooked up the call with still go thru the lines and possibly mess up the ipod.. ....i used to work for AT&T... if u dont believe me hook up a volt metter to the 2 cable and call ur house u should see anywhere from 50 to 70 volts

@guerodatekwiz ok well even if that does happen it doesnt mess up the ipod because i tried it and the other phone just had like a busy signal.

thats the only phone line ripped out of the wall in the whole house and i didnt do it.
