@mikeshredder233 Dont kid yourself, because the Coastal and Wetland areas of Texas are exactly where they should be and have always been. That is the American Alligators natural habitat. Granted they were a protected species in Texas until 1978 due to over hunting, but now the population is thriving and on normal levels. Alligators range from the coast and wetlands of Corpus Christi all the way up to Nacogdoches.
This is amazing. My son Jelani located this information on the web. I never knew how much information anyone could find on the web until today. My family and I have dinner often on Lake Houston. Shark's to be exact. on Saturday. While eating our dinner my family and I see many water lovers taking a chance in the waters of Lake Houston. Big Dummys
Ha! Thanks for posting. Back in the early '70s, I was a very young kid growing up in Houston with Sims Bayou just behind the backyard fence. I swore up and down that I had once hit a gator in the eye with a rock. Every solid rainstorm my folks wondered aloud whether the bayou would fill enough so that the gator could get over the steep bank and exact his revenge on me. Not that they ever believed me. I'll be sending them this link!
