The Lexus LS has always been the flagship of the line, but the ES has traditionally been the brand's sales leader. When it came time to develop the fifth-generation Lexus ES, the designers and engineers took the car to a new level of refinement, interior size and appointments that actually outdoes the original LS. Built on the same platform as the Toyota Camry, the new ES 350 was developed to distance itself from the Camry in interior and exterior styling and on-road performance.

The ES 350's new, larger engine of 3.5 liters is accompanied by a chassis that has a longer wheelbase and wider track. The results in enhanced comfort, which is the ES 350's basic reason for living.

  • great review

  • My big thing when I test drove the ES is two fold

    1) Its too smooth. It's like driving on silk and very responsive, the best and lightest feel I've ever had, but i like that feel of the road and felt a disconnect when driving.

    2) It's just not a car for anyone under 35 - it's not a very cool car nor a car your very likely to feel proud driving when others are rolling Cadillacs, BMWs, Acuras, etc. At 26 that's an issue.

But it is a marvellous car, minus age bias of mine.

  • @AnteaterCharger Hey how is reliability??

  • @AnteaterCharger I'm 16 and i like it. I like buicks lucerne. I hate bmw's

  • lol look at that audi so fken ugly. Germans rip off interior and exterior performance? lol we drive in the city half the time cmon luxurious never goes away.

  • @AnteaterCharger Have to disagree with you on the age bias, its a great looking car regardless of age. I'm on the edge of 35, but I think I would have bought one of these regardless of age, their styling is ageless. I will admit my car has a purse hook though, haha.

  • i saw one yesterday in a pearl-like color. it was one of the most amazing colors i've ever seen, certainly one of the best-looking cars ever. happy new year indeed!

  • i love a car that drives like a "silk". i love mercedes and other luxury cars for that reason. although i do like to go fast sometimes, comfort is number one thing for me when driving. i'm trying to choose between infiniti g37 or lexus. infiniti is sportier.. but lexus is said to be more comfortable ride..

  • my second choice after the LS, this is a very relaxing car i've been told.

  • LOL how did they get the front light to move without moving the wheels?

  • Do older versions of this model live up to its current version. It's obviously cheaper getting a 2000 or earlier model.

  • Lol nightbird... U don't have no Mercedes
