NYU...a normal day in New York City

strolling around elle's dorm at NYU at 2 AM... let's just say freaky security guards HELLO! We're awkwardly bored as well...Once we step out into China Town-Little Italy (in between), BAM! the homeless shelter is less than a block away from us.

Just got into NYU and wondering if it's worth the price tag. I'd be studying at CAS if you know anything about the academics, please let me know!

Question: Is it easy to make friends? I'm out of state so if I decide to go, I'd know no one. I'm fairly shy so I don't want to be by myself in the big city? :\

@animelover67 I don't know anything about the programs but you'll prob get your moneys worth b/c any job you apply for will be impressed that you went to NYU and you'll be more likely to get the job that is, if you make a good impression and have the credentials. It's mainly known for Tisch school of the arts (film school and blahh) but idk about the others, they are equally the best for sure.

@animelover67 You'll def make friends, especially since 80% of the freshmen will be from out of state and everyone will try to fit in so don't hold back , be friendly, and talkative others will be happy if you talk to them. It's a lot easier to make friends at NYU then at local NY colleges like the CUNY's b/c those have native new yorkers, and they aren't as friendly If you have more questions, ask.You'll do fine, hope that helped, good luck!

Just a side note, its hard to get into (competitive, so work hard :)) and it's really expensive, other than that its a nice environment except there's no normal campus. When you go to your classes you are literally walking outside in traffic around tourists just to get to class.
