Sasha and Ann Answer Questions about Psychopharmacology, Psychotherapy, and Drug Policy Reform
Q&A format on psychedelic chemistry, history, policy, the future.
Alexander "Sasha" Shulgin, Ph.D. is a pharmacologist, chemist and drug developer. He and his wife Ann Shulgin authored the books PiHKAL and TiHKAL. Shulgin discovered many other noteworthy phenylethylamines including the 2C* family of which 2C-T-2, 2C-T-7, 2C-I, and 2C-B are most well known.
Shulgin personally tested hundreds of drugs, mainly analogues to various tryptamines (family containing LSD, DMT, and psilocybin) and phenylethylamines (family containing MDMA and mescaline). There are an infinite number of slight chemical variations, all of which produce slight variations in effect Ð some pleasant and some unpleasant Ð and all of which are meticulously recorded in Shulgin's books.
Ann Shulgin has worked as a lay-therapist with psychedelic substances such as MDMA and 2C-B in therapeutic settings while these drugs were still legal. She often appears as a speaker at conventions, and has continued to advocate the use of psychedelics in therapeutic contexts.
Together with her husband, chemist Alexander "Sasha" Shulgin, she has authored the books PiHKAL and TiHKAL and contributed to the book Entheogens and the Future of Religion.
"The cooks no longer do."
In that I mean, the people who were completely addicted to the methyl phenylisoipropylamine spent the vast majority of the last 5 or so years completely clean, despite their knowledge and my ability to provide them with all of the I and P they need to make pounds of it. The lab rats no longer crave, except to build rewarding lives with their families. Believe it or not.

ALL 4 have made a 180 degree U turn in their lives. They didn't know they were my test subjects at the time, they just thought they were getting synthetic mescaline in a tablet, but they are ALL, including (myself), some family members and a couple of their family members, better off for having had the experience(s). If I didn't know exactly every single aspect of the neuropharmacology of the process and experiences, I would have to call the entire experiment a miracle. The cooks no longer do.

In my opinion and experience, the 2C series hold the most medicinal potential of all of the phethylamines. I think 2CE, in particular (along with 2CB), hold potential that would absolutely revolutionize the field of psychotropic pharmacotherapy. I've already changed the life path of 4 people who were headed for the gutter, one is now a nurse and the other is now a small business owner. The others were a couple 100% addicted to methamphetamine (they were cooks), their kids taken away by CPS.

Wow, I didn't know that. I guess we just need to learn more about it and use it with caution. (if available)

I would't touch bromodragonfly, you can get in serious trouble. You might die, if you don't you might end up having to amputate your fingers

One of my favorites is 2CE. I had what I think was 2CB in high school, but got it from some friends and can only guess by looking back with a lot of experience between here and there. The 2CE I got directly from the lab. DOC was also incredible. I haven't had the privileged yet of trying any of the FLYs. I want to try the bromodragonfly very much.
