  • Wow I thought you just buy a turned down bolt and take off the reg bolt and slide in the turned down one I wanted to make mine a sniper but I don't have the holes someone said I needed to add a scope

  • @MosinNagant759

you can buy complete bolts and do a straight swap but its cheaper to buy the "body" and swap it all over like i did, you dont NEED a scope alot of people have the turned down bolt and no scope just cause the bolt looks nicer.

you can get scopes that mount to the rear leaf sight on top of the barrel, no drilling needed, how ever if you want an original PEM or PU styled scope you will need to drill the left side of the reciever for PU and both sides for the PEM scope.

  • @MosinNagant759 I want to make mine a sniper because I love everything that has to do sniping so those scopes I have seen on the rear sight don't need drilling?

  • @MosinNagant759

as far as i know all you do is push out the pin at the front of the rear sight and remove the leaf then attach the new scope mount to the oringinal leaf sight's base using the pin and grub screws,

pretty sure there is no drilling needed

BUT you will need a LONG relief scope.

  • Why didnt you just use your teardrop tool to twist the firing pin. Just curious....

  • @TheDoomtrooper88 ,

no harm asking.. the bolt is a tool its self.

i use only period correct tooling and accessories,

they thought of everything back then, if a soldier lost his tool kit, as long as his bolt was complete he had all he needed.

  • @MosinNagant759 end up having to drill them yourself nbd

  • were did you get your sniper bolt?

  • @MrManofGraham no you dont, they clear all wood work nicely, you will need to cut wood out on the other side if you did a PU sope

  • @wootwoot409 ebay.

  • i want to buy one and were did u get it

  • The whole unscrewing the firing pin works? I thought you had to depress it on a piece of wood

  • The ruskies may be slobs but they knew their onions when it came to "keep it simple, stupid". Look how easy he made that bolt stripping & re-assembly! I've heard of people losing their hair when attempting re-assembly of an HK-91 bolt.

  • Just bend your own bolt, heat up the area you want it to bend, place the body in a vise wrapped in a towel, once the bolt turns red, use a rubber hammer and bend it.

  • @usmc158 Google "Boltman mosin" it will be the first one that comes up.

  • @MosinNagant759 I literally JUST put one of those on my Mosin, it went on with a little work however. I had to do some filing to the scope mount itself with a bastard file, but other than that its a breeze!
