1. connect your phone to your computer using the USB cable.

2 download advancedlauncher to your computer: https://supportforums.motorola.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/180979-14069/...

3. EXTRACT the file to the folder "apps" in your phone.

4 disconect your phone from computer.

5 Go in to settings in your phone then Applications the CLICK on Unkown sources. its going to pop up a box just click OK.

6 go in to the main menu again and click on SETUP . and click start and then next until you reach the part were it says "SD card applications" CLICK were it says Install apps now. and click on AdvancedLauncher.apk. After that click on the back arrow key and click "Next" untill you exit to the main screen.. once there tu run AdvancedLauncher just click on the HOME key and select it.. and there you go

i just found out that they did an update on the one in the market and it does work. i installed it and at first it force close on me but after i went to my home screen there it was. icon was diferent and all when i press the home screen. Do not install the donut version its for android 1.6 .. so now you will have automatic updates if you install from the Market ..

@gogo12able This phone is an iden phone.. not cdma or gsm. it will never get 3g or 4g.. the data speed is of 2g. around 28 kbps .. so i really dont find any reason for it to tether since it would be extremely slow, slower than dial-up. it has android 1.5 .. and motorola does not plan on upgrading it to android 1.6, 2.1 and 2.2. it has the hardware to support android 2.1 BUT since it has PTT function they cant code it to work, or they are just too lazy to do it lol..

To unlock the i1 turn the phone off. While its off press the volume up n down, green, center n red button, that will get ur phone like brand new
